Boss Fight Entertainment seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join our veteran game development team. The candidate will architect, implement, and help guide other engineers in the development of major systems including back end infrastructure, rendering pipeline, artificial intelligence, user interface, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineer practical, robust solutions to complicated mobile game development problems and implement them in a fast-paced, fun environment.
  • Proactively identify technical risks and provide solutions to ensure success of new features and systems.

Boss Fight Entertainment is seeking a Technical Animator to help breathe life into the some of the mobile industry’s most lovable characters.  Do you enjoy building and animating characters?  Do you judge the placement of every joint and worry about the value of every skin weight?  Are you adept at anticipation and skillful at squash and stretch?  If you love solving problems, then we would love to hear from you!

The Technical Animator we seek has experience animating both human and non-humanoid characters, and has a solid grasp of the principles of body movement, anticipation, overshoot, follow-through, squash and stretch, forward and inverse kinematics, and other facets of both 2D and 3D animation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Able to animate humanoid and non-humanoid characters and creatures, both realistic and cartoony
  • Animate props, vehicles, and other non-character assets
  • Have a thorough understanding of painting weights and the skinning process
  • Work closely with Modelers to determine model suitability for rigging
  • Troubleshoot and iterate on rigs during production in a timely manner

The free-to-play mobile game industry has some of the most interesting scalability challenges around. Boss Fight is looking for a server engineer to help us build game systems that thrive under heavy load. You should have professional experience with AWS, linux, and at least one NoSQL product.

  • Write robust, maintainable, debuggable code that fits in with our existing infrastructure

  • Help build a reusable set of back-end systems that multiple games can share

3D Generalist, Austin

Boss Fight Entertainment is looking for an exceptionally skilled, multi-dimensional 3D Generalist to join our Art team.  Our ideal candidate has a primary strength in one 3D competency, but can thrive covering multiple competencies.

Required skills:

3D Character Modeling

  • Expertise in Photoshop, Max, and Zbrush (or equivalent 2D and 3D programs)
  • Possesses a visual and technical understanding of 3D modeling & texturing of high poly  and low poly characters
  • Exhibits a solid grasp of form, color, and light for both 2D and 3D art assets
  • Demonstrated ability to create convincingg organic and hard surface models
  • Have a clear understanding of multipass texture creation as well as techniques that utilize fewer maps and rely more on traditional hand painting

Boss Fight Entertainment is looking for a dynamic Office Assistant to help us in our McKinney studio.  The Office Assistant is responsible for overall front office activities, including the reception area, mail, large purchasing requests, and facility needs, in addition to occasionally providing administrative support to executive staff.  We are looking for someone who is responsible, organized, has outstanding customer service skills and a high level of professionalism.  If this describes you and you want to be part of a team that is passionate about making great games, then we want to hear from you!

  • Responsible for the ordering, inventory, and distribution of office supplies in our McKinney studio.

  • Responsible for booking employee travel.
  • Provides support for executives when the Executive Assistant is out of office.
