Lead Market and Economy Analyst

The Lead Market and Economy Analyst role at Boss Fight is tightly integrated with the product management and game design disciplines. Primary responsibilities include partnering with Product Managers to guide and direct our design teams with the data and insight needed to create the best possible experience for our players while driving and supporting the business’s KPIs of retention, monetization, and user acquisition. Our approach is highly data driven, focusing on achieving the right balance of game design and analytics. The Lead Market Analyst has expert knowledge in querying databases, performing game breakdowns, and modeling user behavior.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Able to deconstruct competitor games to understand core game loops, monetization features, and game mechanics with a high level of expertise
  • Act as the subject matter expert on game industry design and monetization trends
  • Perform varying market and game industry analysis
  • Partner with product managers and game designers to consult on the design and optimization of game features
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to management and the game teams to help inform business, design, and strategic decisions
  • Provide top-down revenue forecasting for products in development based on competitive analysis
  • Identify market opportunities and target demographics for Boss Fight products
  • Expert ability to break down and explain core game loops, monetization features, and game mechanics
  • Partner with the product leadership team to guide the roadmap and new features launches
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our games and the market
  • Mentor and assist team members to find a resolution for complex problems
  • Partner with Lead PMs to define and implement metrics and tracking tools for the product and use the data to inform game design and drive decisions for optimization and future feature development
  • Exemplify reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all work-related interactions


Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of SQL, Tableau and Excel
  • Deep, up-to-date knowledge of free-to-play monetization best practices and psychology of highly engaged spenders across multiple genres
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong data analysis and statistical analysis skills
  • Previous experience with the development and shipment of free to play titles
  • The ability to clarify ambiguous tasks or requests, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Problem solving and critical thinking
  • Experience and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or Math related field
  • 5+ years professional experience analyzing marketing or media data
  • Strong knowledge of digital and traditional media required
  • Knowledge of visual techniques for data analysis and presentation
  • Experience in mobile game industry


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Our core hours are 10am to 6:00pm, which means you should be available for meetings etc. during the time period. You will be required to work longer hours on occasion, especially during periods when staff is working late to meet tight deadlines etc.
